When I was cleaning my bedroom, my side where all of my magazines are in a box for queue to knit. Anyway, I found this in interweave crochet magazine that I had been planning to make this dress for Emma. I realized that Emma will be 5 years old in September. I wanted to make clothes for her before she becomes teenager. Teenager isn't easy and she probably refuses to wear crochet/knit clothes. I'm hoping she will accepts to wear a pretty shawl as a cowl. Anyway, in the next day, I went to a yarn shop and bought the yarns and right away to started this dress. This is size 8. Currently, it's big for her that which is good news so she could wear until she probably ten years old and stopping wear my handmade. I'm not looking forward when it happens.
I wanted colour is purple with dark purple for edge. But the yarn shop is running out so instead for salmon pink and dark gray. I used cascade yarns DK weight.
When I was spinning my own yarn in merino roving in mocha colour. I wanted to knit in garter stitch. So I found this pattern stitch that I wanted from my Ravelry. I bought an online class video--Craftsy.com, I love it. The class is "design your own cowl" with Laura Nelkin the designer. This class is helpful so much. So I can design really easy and doing a math... I suck at math, I couldn't do it without her class on Craftsy.com. I'm happy how it turns out.
Currently, I'm knitting a baby cardigan for Kelli's baby boy. After this I want to knit a baby blanket for my cousin, Sarah. I just want to knit a baby blanket but I don't know who I can give it to so I decided it's for Sarah. I'll give her when she's having a baby shower. And no, she's not pregnant just yet. I want to be prepare. I want this baby blanket to be an unique and antique blanket in our family to feel special with newborn baby. Like if you're quilter and wants to make a quilt blanket, same thing as a knit blanket. When I knitted an antique baby blanket for Derek's cousin, Amy, she LOVES it so much. It said that she feels so special with old-fashioned blanket for her baby. So I'll knit like this picture above in white colour and of course, too soft merino wool yarn. I'm looking forward to knit this.
All I can say is, happy knitting!
